Terms of service
These terms are the agreement between you and Doody Diligence ("we", "us") when you book a service or use this website. We've tried to write them in plain language. By booking, you agree to them, to our billing and cancellation policy, and to our privacy policy.
The service
We remove dog waste from the outdoor areas of your property on the schedule you choose, double-bag it, and put it in your trash container (or haul it away, if you add that option). We also offer one-time cleanups, artificial turf deodorizing, and the add-ons shown at booking. We don't pick up waste inside your home, in a public area, or on a neighbor's property. We serve the zip codes listed on our website. If you're outside them, we'll tell you before anything is scheduled.
Booking and prices
- A booking is a request until we confirm your first visit by email. We may decline any booking.
- Prices are shown before you book and depend on what you tell us (number of dogs, yard size, ground cover and slope). If the property turns out to be meaningfully different from what was described, we'll tell you the correct price before the next visit, and you can accept it or cancel at no charge.
- Discount codes apply to the service they were given for, can't be combined, and can be withdrawn for future bookings.
- Launch pricing promised on our website (for example, rates kept "for as long as you stay with us") is honored for as long as your service stays active without a gap of more than 90 days.
Access to your property
- You confirm you own the property or have the owner's permission for us to enter the outdoor areas you describe.
- On your service day, please leave the gate unlocked or keep your gate code current in your account. If we can't get in, we try once more that day; if it's still locked, we skip that visit and don't charge for it.
- We close and latch every gate we open and photograph it. Please tell us about any gate that doesn't latch reliably; we're not responsible for a gate that was broken, or left open by someone else after we left.
Dogs and safety
- Tell us honestly about your dogs, including any that are nervous, reactive, or have bitten anyone. If a dog seems unsure, or someone we didn't expect is in the yard, we won't go in. We'll email you and come back later or on your next visit, at no charge.
- Keep dogs that aren't comfortable with visitors inside or secured during your service window. You're responsible for your dogs' behavior.
- We never let a dog out or take one off your property.
- Our crew may refuse to work in conditions they reasonably believe are unsafe, such as aggressive animals, steep wet slopes, or hazards like broken glass or wasps, and we'll tell you what we saw.
- Waste can contain parasites and bacteria. We use separate tools and disinfect them between properties.
Weather and schedule changes
Light rain doesn't stop us. In heavy storms, extreme heat, or unsafe air quality we may move a visit by a day or two and will email you. You can skip, move or pause visits from your account as shown there. Visits skipped by you or by us aren't charged.
Photos
Our crew photographs your gate or finished work as proof of service. Photos are stored privately and shown only to you and our team. We won't use a photo of your property in marketing without your permission.
Payment
How and when you're charged is explained in our billing and cancellation policy. Invoices are due when issued. If a payment fails, we'll email you and may pause service until it's resolved.
If something goes wrong
- If you're not happy with a visit, tell us within 3 days and we'll come back and fix it at no charge, or credit that visit.
- If we damage your property, tell us within 7 days with photos and we'll work with you to make it right.
- To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under California law, such as for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Disputes
If there's a problem, please email us first. Most things get fixed in a reply. If we can't resolve it within 30 days, either of us may bring a claim in small claims court in Los Angeles County, or in any other court with jurisdiction. These terms are governed by California law.
Website and accounts
Keep access to your email secure, since login links are sent there. Don't misuse the website, try to access other people's accounts, or submit bookings for property you don't have permission to book. The website content, name and logo belong to Doody Diligence.
Text messages
We don't send text messages yet. When we do, these terms apply to anyone who opted in when booking or in their account:
- You'll get messages from Doody Diligence about your service: booking confirmations, visit reminders and day-of updates. Message frequency varies with your plan, typically 2 to 8 messages a month.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop messages at any time, and HELP for help. You can also email [email protected].
- Consent to texts is not a condition of buying any service.
- Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Your mobile number is never sold or shared with third parties for their marketing. See our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and email active customers about material changes at least 14 days before they apply. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
